Summary:This article is a scientific descriptive study of the information requirements prior to any legal practice of abortion, as stipulated by the Womens' Right to Know Act -rules enacted by different States in the U.S.A. to ensure protection ofboth access to a fully Informed Consent ofwomen and the legitimate interest in prenatal lije of the State. In a context that favors the practice of abortion, either by way of legalization or decriminalization, our objective is to introduce the reader to the specific issues around the decision to abort. Adequately knowing such issues enables to weigh deeply the importance of information in the decision making process of those seeking an abortion.  Given the complexity of the issue, we refiect briefly on the consideration of abortion as a medical procedure and the use of the legal concept of informed consent in this practice.
