Sumario:Maxillofacial fractures in pediatric patients have differences with adult patients due to the physical and psychological developmental stage in which they are found, so it is important to treat injuries with materials and systems whose negative effect is minimal. The purpose of this research is to perform a review of the knowledge about biodegradable materials and their application as fixation systems for the stabilization of bone fractures in the maxillofacial area of pediatric patients.
