| Sumario: | Current modes of agri-food production in peri-urban and metropolitan areas are analyzed. The main objective is to study processes and forms derived from territorial reconfiguration and the strengthening of sustainable local agriculture. The analysis of agricultural parks as an innovative territorial concept, as a safeguard for natural agricultural spaces and as a diversifying and multifunctional element in a context of accelerated urbanization is highlighted. It outlines the state of the art on the main territorial dynamics linked to agri-food systems. It presents the case of two agricultural parks in the city-region of Madrid, where sustainable food production is carried out, which in certain circumstances assume alternative models of solidarity-based production and consumption, with significant impacts on the socio-territorial environment. Using information obtained through interviews with producers and stakeholders involved in management, territorial forms that explore alternative food modalities are analyzed, which have an impact on the territorial sustainability of natural spaces within metropolitan systems and on access to diverse options for healthy eating. |
