Low temperature redetermination of the glycine sodium nitrate structure by using x-ray single crystal diffraction technique
The redetermined structure of glycine sodium nitrate, C2H5N2NaO5, at 150±K is reported. The compound has an overall polymeric structurewhilst the glycine molecule is found in the zwitterionic form. GSN crystals were characterized by XRD powder diffraction, FTIR, UV-VIS,and DTA-TGA techniques. XRD re...

| Resumo: | The redetermined structure of glycine sodium nitrate, C2H5N2NaO5, at 150±K is reported. The compound has an overall polymeric structurewhilst the glycine molecule is found in the zwitterionic form. GSN crystals were characterized by XRD powder diffraction, FTIR, UV-VIS,and DTA-TGA techniques. XRD revealed that GSN have a monoclinic structure and space group Cc. Infrared spectra confirmed that thechemical elements and functional groups are present in the crystals and also collaborated the zwiterionic form of molecule. Ultraviolet-Visible spectra showed a wide optical transparent window in the range of 340-1100 nm, which is a desirable characteristic for nonlinearoptics applications. DTA-TGA analysis determined that the material is stable up to 198±C |
