Descrição
Resumo:The article investigates the relationship between Leon Battista Alberti’s De pictura and De re aedificatoria treatises through research on the imitation of nature and the study of the forma, space and place in the context of the classical heritage and Renaissance humanist thinking of the Quattrocento. It takes as its starting point two considerations: on one side, an analysis of the Latin terms circumscriptio, compositio, lineamenta and the Tuscan term disegno found in the Latin and vernacular editions of De pictura taken as conceptual precedents to the design process of architecture; on the other, the problem of the inclusion of the architectonic and urban space in painting through a reflection on the Albertian theorization of perspective.
