| Resumo: | This study analyzes the way in which Mexico's access to the growing process of economic and financial globalization from a position of disadvantage reached a crisis as a result of its negative effects on production and its openness to short-term, speculative foreign capital. The reduction of the gross domestic product, the excessive increase in the current account deficit and political problems led to the crisis whose international effects forced the country to agree to a huge credit which will aggravate and prolong the crisis, according to the author. |
