| Sumario: | The present work was carried out at the Aguamilpa dam from August 2000 to December 2001, with a duration of one and a half years. The objective of the work was to propose technological improvements to the gillnets used in the area for the commercial capture of tilapia, catfish and lobster, species regularly caught and commercialized by fishermen. The study included field sampling of commercial catches, as well as echnological analysis of the nets used for this purpose, such as catch efficiency and selectivity. In order to contrast the results obtained in the commercial capture of the species in question, 9 nets were constructed with different mesh sizes with technical characteristics recommended by the FAO. for the capture by gillnet of Sierra and Tilapia. These were operated in the same fishing sites for analysis and comparison of their operating characteristics with respect to commercial nets during an annual cycle! The results obtained showed that the most efficient nets in terms of capture, with sizes and weights suitable for commercialization, were 4" and 4 W . In order to make decisions, it was considered necessary to guarantee the production of the species with the consequent commission of small sizes, which will allow their recruitment to the fishable stock. The 4" and 4" and," nets are recommended for commercial fishing in Aguamilpa point at which the results of this work coincide with the official Mexican standard for tilapia fishing in reservoirs. From these results were proposed technological improvements that were considered for the construction of a prototype net that incorporates the criteria of a planned and responsible fishing. |
