Description
Summary:The Rio Bravo o Grande del Norte is the most important natural border between Mexico an the United States. In the period 1853-1854 four Mexican engineers explored a section of river between the two countries like part of a demarcation work. They had to indicate in maps its bed as it was specified in The Guadalupe Hidalgo´s Treaty, however the commissioners confronted serious problems, before they achieved the best maps of the Bravo river from Laredo until its mouth near to Matamoros. In their observations they left testimony of the vegetation and of some climatic variables which allows to analyze probable changes in the area.
