The high correlation between length and maximum width reveals a positive allometrical relationship in fossil and living species. There is a good metrical coincidence between Cerro Largo S. bubonius representatives and S. latus from Cabo Verde, while S. latus representatives from Guinea and Senegal reach larger sizes.
