| Resumo: | [EN]The natural riches of the Amazon, which have always been exploited as commodities, favor external markets capable of adding innovations and, invariably, returning to the original owners at extremely high values, almost prohibitive for Amazonians. Structuring a promising system for using biodiversity and the information it contains with environmental conservation and income generation in and for the Amazon, requires actions in multiple dimensions. The investments should not only contemplate the strengthening of teaching and research institutions in the region but also expand the capacity to produce robust information aimed at social inclusion and income generation, bioeconomy, environmental conservation, health, and education, among others. Note that it is necessary to go beyond the conventional as sectored or partial investments - a complex system such as Amazon requires strategic and holistically realized investments. |
