Resumo:In this article a didactic itinerary for teaching patterns in Early Childhood Education is presented. First the incorporation of this algebraic knowledge in the curriculum is argued, for its important role in the development of intelligence; secondly, are specified the main contents about patterns: recognition and generation of repeating patterns and growth patterns; thirdly, a didactic itinerary which considers different teaching contexts is presented: everyday life situations, manipulatives, games, popular resources (stories and songs) and digital resources. Finally, some proposals to work patterns in these different contexts are shown
