Sumario:Archaeognatha is the sister group of the rest of insects. They are usually found in leaf litter, in the bark of logs and trees and under rocks. The lack of knowledge on the distribution and diversity in the order is illustrated by knowledge gaps in countries like Chile, where they remain understudied. Here, we compile both bibliographic and citizen science records of Archaeognatha species from mainland and insular Chile. In the literature review we documented the presence of four taxa belonging to three genera in the family Meinertellidae: Machiloides anceps (Nicolet, 1849), Allomachilis ochagaviae (Wygodzzinsky, 1951), Machilinus (Neotropolinus) chilensis Sturm & Bach de Roca, 1992, and Machilinus (Neotropolinus) meyi Sturm, 2001. Bibliographic records were limited to five provinces, which increased to 30 provinces after the review of iNaturalist observations. These records also expanded the distributional knowledge of genera Machilinus (14 provinces), Machiloides (9 provinces), and Allomachilis (4 provinces). Additionally, putative new taxa were identified. Photographic records and citizen science initiatives play a crucial role in expanding our knowledge of biodiversity, providing valuable data on the distribution of lesser-known taxa. Regarding Archaeognatha, integrative studies combining morphological and genetic data are key to further document the diversity of the order and understand its main drivers.
