| Resumo: | [EN] Increased survival has led to a profound transformation in the reproductive system, with consequences such as demographic aging. This article analyzes the impact of demographic change on the generational structure, from a prospective standpoint, introducing into observation the main demographic dynamics together. We must begin to think about our populations in terms of multiplicity of generations, which do not depend so much on the size of any of them, but rather on their overlap. The division of biographical trajectories into three ages no longer corresponds to the reality of post-transitional populations. A new “sandwich” effect is generated between caring for grandchildren and caring for an elderly mother, which may have effects on the transition to retirement of the female generations |
