| Resumo: | This dissertation examines women's political representation and participation from an intersectional perspective in Catalonia. It encompasses three different, yet interconnected research articles. The first paper analyses the claim-making process within the feminist movement. It finds that employing intersectional solidarity enables the improvement of the descriptive, substantive, and constitutive representation of minoritized women and gender minorities. The second article studies the intersectional dynamics of inclusion and exclusion within the feminist movement. It identifies the process of marginalization among women and emphasizes the role of emotions in the transformation of feminist practices. The third article explores the informal rules that facilitate or hinder the participation of women in the racial justice movement, the LGBTI+ movement, and the disability rights movement. It shows how male privilege is sustained, the informal rules that distribute resources in a fairer way among groups, and the factors that contribute to adopting more equitable rules. |
