Description
Summary:An analysis of calibration of visual wave data (height and period) has been made in the Ebro Delta coast using two years of simultaneous data of a directional waverider buoy. The obtained results show a good correlation between the visual wave height (the maxima of sea and swell) and the measured significant wave height, although a conversion relationship must be applied since visual wave data are higher. The visual wave periods (the maxima of sea and swell) present a low correlation with the measured ones due to the short range of existing periods. However, the order of magnitude of the visual period is closer, although slightly shorter, to that of the measured one.
