| Resumo: | Quevedo’s personality becomes complicated with legend formed around his baffling personality. One of the leafy branches of this legend is his alleged misogyny, which has become a commonplace in studies of the life and work of the writer. In this article, through the analysis of documentary evidence on the biography of Don Francisco, texts of his works and with the support of some recent publications, the author concludes that scholars must review a concept that owes more to the tradition than Quevedo’s personality. |
