Sumario:Highlights Debris-laden ocean resurge crested Chicxulub's peak ring and was at least 450 m deep. Dominant sediment deposition occurred after a rapid drop in resurge transport energy. Relative distribution of melt and target clasts hints at provenance and flow dynamics. A method to estimate impactor (thus indirectly, crater) size and/or paleobathymetry is proposed. Records of resurge depend on depositional setting within the marine-target crater.
