Resumo:[EN] The authors create a new genus, Bursoplophora, belonging in the oribatid family Protoplophoridae Ewing, 1917, with the following chief characters : tarsi with three claws not very long, the central one thicker than the other two. Anal and adanal plates completely fused. Each ano-adanal plate showing in its central region a narrow depression resembling a pocket (hence the name). The type species is Bursoplophora iberica nov. sp.; another species, Protoplophora bivaginata Grandjean, 1932, must be included in the new genus.
