Resumo:With his poetic work («L’Empordà»), and as a columnist of Joventut or La Veu de Catalunya, and -being a cultural leading figurewith his interventions as president of literary contests (Festa de la Bellesa de Palafrugell, Jocs Florals de Girona…), Maragall collaborates with Prat de la Riba’s project. With «Catalunya endins» as motto, this project seeks to build a symbolic construction of the Catalan nation, creating a myth about l’Empordà that turns the region into a symbol of the Catalan identity while conserving the complexity of the poet’s figure. However, as the myth becomes more popular, it will be interpreted in different ways
