The unionist (Better Together) and independence (Yes Scotland) platforms are making a fundamental duty explaining to the Scottish electorate the pros and cons of both options. The consensus presides over the modus operandi of Better Together under the leadership of Alistair Darling (Labour Party). Conservatives, labour and Liberals are aware that the maintenance of the unity of the United Kingdom is the great political goal for 2014. Regarding Yes Scotland, the control of the platform by the Scottish National Party, threatens to cause disagreements with other partners of the platform, particularly with the Scottish Socialist Party, among other reasons, because both parties, understand the meaning of independence in very different ways. This stark contrast can also be perceived in the vision of the United Kingdom and the international relations framework that would establish an independent Scotland. Also, the leftist language practised by the SSP poses a threat to convince the electorate who today have not decided their vote in the referendum.El 18 de septiembre de 2014 Escocia celebrará el referendo en el que determinará la cuestión de si permanece en la Unión o, por el contrario, se separa del resto de naciones integrantes del Reino Unido, creando el (nuevo) Estado escocés. Las plataformas unionista (Better Together) e independentista (Yes Scotland) están realizando una labor fundamental de cara a explicar al electorado escocés los pros y contras de ambas opciones. El consenso preside el modus operandi de Better Together bajo el liderazgo de Alistair Darling (Labour Party) ya que conservadores, laboristas y liberales son conscientes de que el mantenimiento de la unidad de Reino Unido es el gran objetivo político para 2014. En lo que se refiere a Yes Scotland, el monopolio en la misma del Scottish National Party, amenaza con provocar divergencias con el resto de socios, particularmente con el Scottish Socialist Party, entre otras razones, porque ambos partidos, contemplan el significado de la independencia de manera muy distinta. Este fenómeno también puede predicarse de su visión del Reino Unido y del entramado de relaciones internacionales que establecería una Escocia independiente.
