| Resumo: | [EN] Juan Antonio García Solera obtained his degree in architecture at Madrid s School of Architecture in 1953. Javier Carvajal, Francisco Coello of Portugal, Eleuterio Población and Pedro Casariego were amongst his classmates, with whom he shared the same professional attitude characteristic of the Spanish architecture in those central decades of the twentieth century. The analysis of his drawings highlights the relevant role they assume for him in the process of shaping architecture, as an essential means for the effective control of his constructive materialization. These architectural drawings and freehand sketches traced on the drawing desk of his studio are revealed as an irreplaceable hinge between the ideation of the work and its construction. It has been a constant throughout his lengthy professional life until his death in August 2019, when this text was being written. |
