Student users in a virtual learning environment are faced, not only to the problems related to acquire the knowledge of their course, but also to technological problems as information overloading, getting used to web surfing, computer use, etc. One way to minimize the impact caused by heterogeneity existing in virtual learning environments is to adapt several aspects to the specific characteristics from the user and his context. From this point of view, this work shows a model for an integral user that has been used to generate a virtual course that can interoperate between ELearning platforms. This course has been created using the SCORM reference model and the IMSLD specificationEl uso de entornos virtuales de educación es cada vez más común en todos los niveles de educación. Sin embargo, este aumento en el uso de tales entornos presupone también que consideremos los diferentes escenarios donde ahora tendrán lugar los procesos de enseñanza- aprendizaje. Los estudiantes usuarios de un entorno de aprendizaje virtual, se ven enfrentados no solo a problemas relacionados con el aprendizaje de los nuevos conocimientos de su curso, sino también a problemas tecnológicos, de sobrecarga de in formación , de familiarización con la navegación Web, uso del computador, etc. Una forma de minimizar el impacto generado por la heterogeneidad existente en los entornos de aprendizaje virtual, es la adaptación de diferentes aspectos a las características del usuario y su contexto. Desde este punto de vista, este trabajo presenta un modelo de usuario integral que se ha utilizado para la generación de un curso virtual interoperable entre plataformas de E-learning.
