Se trata de una nueva etiqueta musical empleada en tiempos recientes como una manera de referirse a un nuevo tipo de cumbia de carácter postmoderno y digital, que está siendo interpretada por una nueva generación de músicos argentinos que han crecido en la era de Internet.
