Description
[ABSTRACT] In the paleontological studies are not always taken into account the .possible bias of the fossil record. When this possibility is considered, interpretations are made through analogical reasonings found in the biological evolutionary theory. The use of the neodarwinian logic and the conversion of some biological evolutionary concepts may be very fructiferous in Taphonomy; for example, the concept of conservability may be structurally equivalent to the adaptation. Nevertheless, the structural equivalence between biological and taphonomical hypothesis can not be carried to such a point as to pretend to explain the fossil record in terms of conservability.
