Descrição
Resumo:[EN] The use of photographs as a method of identification is very common in our society. If photographs have been used for many years as proof of identity of the bearer — passports, identity cards, driving, membership to an association, club, mutual, etc. —, today with the proliferation of images both in recordings of video cameras for surveillance, as well as the ones accessible through the Internet and social networks, this function is even more frequent. However, are we sure that this method of identification works? The objective of this communication is to demonstrate from the Psychology of facial recognition that the identification of strangers through portraits fails in an inadmissible percentage of cases.
