| Resumo: | Information on the botanical, ecological (distribution, phenology), silviculture and other characteristics of the species Ocotea insularis is presented. For this, we reviewed available information and herbarium collections. The analysis allowed to conclude that this species of the genus, and possibly of Lauraceae, more widely distributed in Ecuador, which, in turn, implies numerous common names and uses to species, which in turn assumes that this taxa has an enormous potential for reforestation, enrichment and use. |
