Resumo:The  nutritional qualities of Rhynchophorus palmarum larvae are shown as food for Amazonian peoples, the feasibility of raising them in captivity for trade and prices in the local market to be considered a new productive venture. the larvae of Rhynchophorus palmarum have nutritional quality. The high price and demand for tourists and settlers, will guarantee marketable and profitable productions. Knowing the use of the resources of the forest by the Amazonian peoples will be a guide for the undertaking of new productive activities, in this case the breeding, commercialization and consumption of larvae of Rhynchophorus palmarum in the province of Pastaza of Ecuador.
