Thus, on the one hand, study Conforti’s role as a political channel for the secular demands of freethinkers and freemasons, and on the other, deepen the analysis of the critical situation that the Freethinking and the Freemasonry was going through, over the Centennial celebrations of the 1812 May Revolution in Argentina. This is mainly researched from the study of Masonic sources.Este artículo explora la figura de Carlos Conforti, uno de los líderes políticos más emblemáticos de la masonería y el librepensamiento en la Argentina, a principios del siglo XX. Todo ello con el fin de, por un lado, estudiar el rol de Conforti como canalizador político de las demandas laicistas de los librepensadores y masones, y por el otro, profundizar en el análisis de la situación crítica que atravesaba el campo librepensador y masónico, en torno al Centenario de la Revolución de Mayo.
