| Resumo: | The article that we present questions the function and objective of education in today’s society. That is, it addresses the dilemma of whether education should seek the formation of human beings or simply be limited to the training of “qualified” professionals, who help increase the GDP of each nation, and if we understand education as an indicator of more development. In this process, it has not been strange that when thinking about education, the mantras of the neoliberal bureaucrat are constantly used: competition, quality and efficiency. The problem involves the staging of an instrumental rationality, clearly associated with the genealogies of coloniality, a coloniality of knowledge that despises the knowledge generated in the exteriority of modernity and denies them any epistemic contribution. We believe that these contributions should be made visible for a real implementation of an education that is closer to respect for the human and is distanced from the simple and plain commodification. |
