To achieve this, different normative documents (such as laws, bills and resolutions) were reviewed through critical discourse analysis theory. The study revealed there is a political consensus between neoliberalism and religious fundamentalism, which sustains a conservative notion concerning the nuclear family, based on heterosexual marriage, that holds women responsible of fulfilling the notion’s primary mandate of procreation.
