This globalizing vision, devoid of nuances, even in relation to the evolution in time of the ideas and behavior among Catholics, essentially diminishes serious research due to the lack of arguments, and even being able to reach some inaccurate conclusions. This study is focused on the use of terms like clerical, Ultramontanism, and Catholic press in those pieces of research.Las investigaciones sobre la antimasonería formulada desde posiciones eclesiales suelen partir de una visión católica como una institución compacta y homogénea en todo momento, también en aquellas cuestiones que quedan al margen del dogma y de la doctrina. Esta visión globalizadora, inclusive en lo relativo a la evolución en el tiempo de las ideas y de los comportamientos de los católicos, merma de rigor las investigaciones por insuficiencia de los argumentos empleados pudiéndose, incluso, alcanzar unas conclusiones desajustadas, si no erróneas.
