Then, using the Comparative Method, he establishes a series of systematic correspondences between this word and possible cognates of other related languages in order to prove their kinship and origin from the same reconstructed protoform.En el presente trabajo, el autor propone un origen en el huetar para la palabra toboba ‘serpiente venenosa’. Esta lengua de estirpe chibchense fue el principal idioma de sustrato del español de Costa Rica. Primeramente, analiza la semasiología de este vocablo y su distribución geográfica.
