However, with the accession of internet, new technologies and digitalization of information, the magazine was obliged to enter the world of metadata, a universe of algorithms in which knowledge is globalized and expanded through interconnection networks.  In the past, articles where preserved jealously through hardcover issues, now they travel freely through internet, identified as digital objects with specific numbering for quick localization. Furthermore, they are saved in a digital library, named from metalanguage like: repositories, indexes, databases and directories, which gather information through different methods that involve the use of metadata.  The entrance of Estudios magazine in the metadata era has been a stage of great learning and ample transformation relevant to the administration of digital information implicated in editorial management. El nacimiento de la Revista Estudios fue producto de un esfuerzo continuo de muchas y muchos investigadores que creyeron en este proyecto, el cual se origina en 1978 de manera impresa. Sin embargo, con el advenimiento del Internet, las nuevas tecnologías y la digitalización de la información la revista se ve obligada a ingresar al mundo de los metadatos, un universo de algoritmos en el cual el conocimiento se globaliza y se expande mediante redes de interconexiones de dato a dato. En el pasado, los artículos se preservaban celosamente mediante empastes duros bien cuidados, ahora viajan libres por la red, se identifican como objetos digitales, con numeraciones específicas para poder localizarlos.
