To reach this result, the authors Tania Tamayo and Alejandra Carmona, journalists and scholars of the University of Chile, carried out an impressive document review research and careful fieldwork, offering the readers a thick description based on empirical data, without losing track of the larger picture and structural conditioning that determines the Chilean water management model. Methdologically, the only weakness is that the book fails to offer a detailed list of bibliographic references and other sources. This is expected as it is not an academic publication, but it would have been helpful for those peaople aiming to study the problems engaged by this book.El negocio del agua es un libro de investigación periodística que examina el modelo de gestión del agua en Chile. Si bien no se autodefine bajo esa etiqueta, podemos ubicar la obra dentro del campo de la ecología política latinoamericana, combinando, de manera equilibrada, rigurosidad académica, compromiso político y sensibilidad social. Para alcanzar este resultado, sus autoras, Tania Tamayo y Alejandra Carmona, periodistas y académicas de la Universidad de Chile, llevaron a cabo una impresionante revisión documental y un cuidadoso trabajo de campo, ofreciendo a los y las lectoras una gran riqueza de detalles y datos empíricos, sin perder de vista las grandes tendencias y condicionantes estructurales en los cuales se inscribe el modelo de gestión del agua en dicho país.
