Secondly, the paper analyzes the social dimension of the poems and, thirdly, addresses the topics of liberty, fraternity, love, and responsibility as the axiological axes that structure them. As for the conclusions, emphasis is laid on Facio’s contribution to Costa Rican poetry inasmuch as on the fact that up to this date his poetry has been practically unknown to national Literature.En este artículo se estudia la obra poética de Rodrigo Facio Brenes, con el objetivo de establecer los principales valores humanistas que la articulan y su diálogo con el contexto histórico y cultural costarricense. En un primer momento se establece un breve marco teórico y se ubica la poesía de este autor en la primera mitad del siglo veinte y, en el segundo, se procede al análisis de la dimensión social de los poemas. Finalmente, se abordan la libertad, la fraternidad, el amor y la responsabilidad como los principales ejes axiológicos que los articulan.
