By following this path, this analytical-critical study, based on literature, brings an unusual hypothesis: the Operative and Speculative Phases may have been concomitant or, with greater speculative boldness, based on official historiography, the latter, lato sensu, may even have preceded the former.Na Maçonaria a ars memoriae já há tempos encontra-se oculta em meio às ritualísticas, ora nas entrelinhas das Artes Liberais, ora por entre as Virtudes Cardeais. Todavia, a sua importância pode ser ainda maior se explicar a transição da Fase Operativa à Especulativa, hipótese aventada por Frances A. Yates.
