Sumario:The article is about the economic growth of the insular system caused by the transformationof the land scape for the benefit of tourism through the marketing products andservices offered globally, under the context of new colonialism. The article is the resultof an investigation related to the analysis of alterations in the west coast of the island ofCozumel, caused by the impulse of cruise tourism. This can reveal the process of homogenizationof insular space tourism impacts in space as a result of changes in the mode ofproduction and the economic dependence of the area.
