Resumo:This article is the result of the presentation made in Costa Rica, in September 2014, on the occasion of the Annual Seminar of the Latin American Chair of Criminology and Human Rights Alessandro Baratta. This work focuses on the enlightenment principles of Criminal Law and Criminology, developed in Cesare Beccaria. It also exposes about the link between the thought of Beccaria and Alessandro Baratta, which are two men of Enlightment but from different centuries
