| Resumo: | Critical contemporary political theory has sought, through different paths, to rescue the dimension of conflict. However, such evidence of conflict in empirical studies is still timid. In this sense, the concept of antagonism developed by Laclau and Mouffe appears as a renewed alternative for this. Regarding the studies that approach the HGPE, taking few current works, little attention is paid to this type of relationship, which we consider to be a more relevant element in the electoral process, given its deconstructive character. Thus, the objective of this article is to demonstrate the antagonistic construction between the speeches produced by the PSDB and PT candidacies made during the HGPE broadcast by the television in the presidential election of 2002, which ended up putting the Economic Plan as the nodal point of this conflict. For this, the theoretical and methodological aspects of Laclau and Mouffe's discourse theory will be used. |
