Descripción
Sumario:This work aimed to analyze the distribution of Pronaf resources among the regions of Brazil, taking into account aspects such as number of contracts, the amounts transferred of credits, as well as the average values of Pronaf among all Brazilian regions in the years 1999 to 2014. Thus, we sought to show the uneven behavior of the volumes of PRONAF resources appropriated by the Brazilian regions in that period. The research data were collected from the Central Bank. We estimated trend models of the variables, using instantaneous geometric growth rates (GGR) of the evolution of values and contracts between regions and between Brazilian states. The evidence found in the research supported the guiding hypothesis of the study, which was that the resources of PRONAF, in its different modalities, are appropriated unequally among the Brazilian regions and states, favoring the most developed regions and states (South and Southeast) to the detriment of the most needy regions (North and Northeast) and, thus, contributing to the increase of inequalities among the Brazilian regions.
