| Summary: | The study of relief forms makes up the field of Geomorphology, and presents its effectiveness in the face of the need to understand the natural processes dynamics in the sculpting forms and in the consequent occupation of them. Thus, one of the main way of analyzing natural environments is through Geomorphological Cartography, understood as a field of relief forms representation. Thus, this work aims to propose the geomorphological mapping of the municipality of Antônio Gonçalves (BA), as a subsidy for land use and occupation planning, based on the IBGE (2009) methodology. Therefore, the work was divided into four stages: the first consists of a bibliographic review; the second, through the use of aerial photographs; the third defined by calculating the dissection index and elaborating the results and discussions. The predominance of forms related to Accumulation Modeling, such as alluvial plains, Planning Modeling, such as the pediment, and Dissection Modeling, represented by asymmetric ridges and structural valleys, was identified. This research raises worrying issues, by identifying relief compartments with a high rate of dissection, while directing them by highlighting the need for geotechnical planning and the Urban Land Subdivision Law (BRASIL, 1979). |
