| Resumo: | The article is about the election of school principals, understood as a mechanism of democratic management, in which the community participates in the decisions of the school, so that feeling as part of that educational institution. This way, the article aims at understanding to what extent the Action Plans, presented by the school principal candidates from a municipality in the Santa Maria of Rio Grande do Sul, enable the school management in a democratic perspective. The research methodology was based in a qualitative approach, supported by descriptive and exploratory research. The results analyzed were the Action Plans, initially from 6 (six) candidates, from different regions of the municipality. The analysis and the data discussion were done from the guiding chart elaborated based on the studies from Libâneo (2013), Lück (2009), Neto and Sousa (2011) concerning the conceptions of management and the dimensions of democratic school management. The data indicate that, from the 06 (six) Action Plans, only 03 (three) approach the dimensions with an interrelated and complementary manner, and all Plans approach pedagogical dimensions. The other Plans, sometimes treat the pedagogical and administrative dimension, and other times the pedagogical and people’s dimensions, or yet, only refer to the pedagogical dimension. At last, this study allowed the understanding that, in the Action Plans of the candidates for principal and vice principal of municipal schools, the pedagogical, administrative/financial and people’s dimensions need to be interrelated so that there is a management of public school of basic education in a democratic perspective. |
