| Resumo: | The present article deals with the ethical foundation necessary for the formation of the collective will, as Antonio Gramsci (1891-1937) thought, especially in the Prison Notebooks. Our goal is not to address those that could be considered the formal principles of a new ethics, but to explore the relationship between ethics and culture, it is the culture that often appears as a founding and motivating element of a Will capable of guiding individual and collective action in a particular direction. Therefore, our objective is to deal with the means by which the formation of individuals is formed in the sense of the constitution of a collective will. Finally, we intend to show how Gramsci thinks the formation of the collective will, having as reference the important change of mentality introduced in Modernity by the Protestant Reformation. |
