| Resumo: | The goal of UNESP’s Tutorial Education Program is to develop and improve professional abilities, as well as to reinforce and supplement the academic training of graduate students. In this program, students were given the opportunity to work with patients that could not afford complex dental treatments. Therefore, the students provided dental services to poor communities, and educated patients in ways to maintain good dental health. By undertaking on-the-job training, the students could uncover existing problems that might become topics for future research and educational programs. Finally, our university offers education, research, and on-the-job training, producing skilled professionals ready to begin their dental careers upon graduation. |
