| Resumo: | The purpose of this article is to analyze the Metropolitan Region of Toledo, in Paraná State. Brazilian metropolitan regions´ scenario is underway of changes and adaptations, due to the recently approved “Metropolis Statute”. Toledo is just another example among several cities which lacks metropolitan features which should be enforced to the new coming legislation. The discussion highlights public chores to the common interest, and the inquiry in regard to the necessity of institutionalizing a metropolitan venue to its advantages and disadvantages. The scope of Toledo´s Metropolitan Region was made by data systematization carved out from the grid of municipalities through socioeconomic reports, maps, among others. As the main methodology it was rendered the bibliographical and documentary research. The data as well as concepts review had endeavored to sort out doubts about the technique authenticity of Toledo´s Metropolitan Region. Additionally to such context, it may be inserted the population arrangement between the cities of Toledo and Cascavel, as to be incompatible to certain political and planning efforts as opposed to last years, neglecting such integration. |
