| Resumo: | This study aimed to understand the perceptions and feelings of women in prison who face separation from their children due to incarceration. This is a study that has an exploratory qualitative nature, carried out during the months of May and June 2023 with ten women in prison in a female prison and who had children under 15 years of age living within or outside the walls. As a data collection technique, a semi-etructured interview was used, with the narratives being transcribed and organized according to the meaning cores so that analysis was possible from the perspective of dialectical hermeneutics. The convergences, divergences, complementarities and differences highlighted the suffering of women in prison, both due to the condition in which they are inserted, and due to the repercussions that incarceration had on their children and family, reverberating in intramural concerns and strategies for coping with separation. |
