Entre muitas questões descritas por ela, existe uma que parece estar sempre presente como temática periférica, mas não de menor importância em seus textos, a saber, a questão da leitura e também de seus leitores enquanto fonte de aperfeiçoamento social, especialmente para as mulheres. O objetivo deste artigo será o de estudar este aspecto, em especial, na tentativa de destacar ainda mais sua importância social e acadêmica, especialmente ligada ao seu romance: Razão e Sensibilidade (1811). Ao desenvolvermos este artigo para investigação da questão da leitura através da personagem protagonista do romance, Marianne Dashwood, pretendemos promover o avanço do tema feito na realização de uma leitura política que buscará abarcar num nível ainda mais amplo a visualização dos principais aspectos literários bem como a possível marca de contradições presentes no mesmo. Abstract:Jane Austen is one of the authors who owns a great prestige in the literary scenario, especially for bringing to the fore aspects of English society in which she was linked. Among many subjects described by her, there is one that always seems to be present as peripheral thematic, but not less important in her writings, namely, the question of reading and its readers as a source of social improvement, especially for women. The objective of this article is to study this aspect, in particular, in an attempt to highlight even more its social and academic importance, especially linked to her novel: Sense and Sensibility (1811). In developing this paper our aim is to promote an investigation in this aspect, of reading throughout the protagonist Marianne Dashwood in order to go further in the theme, we intend to promote a political reading that will encompass an even broader level the view of its main literary aspects, as well as well as its possible marks of contradictions in it.
