| Sumario: | The participation in the composition of the Dossier Florestan Fernandes, organized by UFPE, brought the opportunity to report the main achievements in these twenty-four years of the availability of the Florestan Fernandes Collection. So we write our experience based on the sixteen years we have worked with it. We will address the organization and peculiarities of the forementioned professor's Library, Archive and Mini Museum, acquired in 1996 by UFSCar -Federal University of São Carlos, which were allocated to his Community Library in the Special Collections Room. In this article we will report the various phases and peculiarities of this collection, comprised between the visit of the sociologist's family to UFSCar until its inauguration, processing, availability,and recognition by Brazilian civil and intellectual society. Therefore, the structure of this article will answer some questions such as why thiscollection is in São Carlos and Florestan Fernandes was a professor at USP and resident in São Paulo and other curiosities about the collection.
