Descripción
Sumario:Printed travel guide is of great interest to study the image of the city. This research is concerned with the modes of construction and the evolution of the touristic image of Lyon in the first half of the 20th century, through a corpus of four collections of travel guides. The evolution of the representations of Lyon urban space can be followed over time by tracking changes in the touristic discourse, like appearance and disappearance of objects between the editions. Extracting spatial information from the guides of the corpus and entering it into a Geographic Information System – GIS makes it possible to conduct various treatments and analyses. For example, it is possible to spatialize the walking tours listed in travel guides.
