| Resumo: | This article seeks to examine the social and economic-productive scenario of rural resettlements made up of families affected by the Castanhão Dam in Ceará. Taking as a starting point the fact that these families have been resettled for around 20 years in the territories analyzed, we seek to evaluate the effectiveness of the social compensation policies implemented, based on the perception of the populations residing in the communities. Based on an exploratory and descriptive approach, bibliographical research, interviews with key sources and application of questionnaires were used as methodological resources. It was possible to conclude that the process of displacement and resettlement of families in the areas where they were relocated was and continues to be involved by patterns of social debt and insufficiencies in the compensation projects implemented, problems that profoundly marked the process of community reconstruction, resulting in precarious territorialization with diverse repercussions and consequences today. |
